Who can apply for jobs at Te Papa?
What do I do if I’ve forgotten my Jobs Centre username and/or password?
Click on the Retrieve Password link on the Login box at the bottom right of the page, and enter the email address that you used when you set up your Jobs Centre registration. Your username and password will be emailed to that address.
What should I do if I’m unable to attach my CV to my profile in the Te Papa Jobs Centre?
Your CV should be in Microsoft Word (doc) or PDF format and be no larger than 3MB.
If you’re unable to attach a CV, please complete your profile, apply for your specified vacancy and send your CV to email@example.com, stating your name and the position you are applying for. A member of Te Papa’s HR team will then upload your CV and attach it to the application you made for that specific role.
How do I apply for a job at Te Papa?
Find a job at Te Papa by using the search facility to the right of the Jobs Centre homepage. You can select by the drop-down category or just hit SEARCH to bring up all of Te Papa’s current vacancies.
If there are no current vacancies that meet your requirements, you can register your details and create a profile for yourself and attach your C.V. Your profile and C.V. will be stored in our Jobs Centre database and you can be emailed any time a vacancy occurs that matches your preferences.
What happens after I apply for a job?
After you have submitted your online application, you should receive an acknowledgement email confirming that we have received it. A recruitment panel will then assess your skills and experience in relation to the requirements of the position.
You may not hear back from Te Papa until after the closing date for the position. Sometimes it can take up to two weeks after the closing date for the shortlisting process to be completed depending on the number of applications we receive for that vacancy. If the process takes longer than this, we will aim to let you know.
After shortlisting has completed, the hiring manager or a member of the recruitment panel for that particular vacancy will then contact you via email or phone to advise you on the outcome of your application.
What do I need to include in my job application?
When you apply for a Te Papa vacancy, you need to ensure you complete all the required fields in the application form and attach a copy of your CV and cover letter. If there is a questionnaire attached to the job application, you need to make sure that you complete this too.
Who do I contact about a specific vacancy?
If after two weeks after the closing date of the vacancy, you haven’t heard from someone at Te Papa regarding the status of your application, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, stating your name and the position you applied for. A member of the HR team will follow up with the recruitment panel on your behalf and have someone contact you.
How long do jobs stay posted on the Te Papa Jobs Centre?
Generally, Te Papa advertises its vacancies for a minimum of one week. Most of our vacancies are up for two weeks, while some may stay open until the position is filled. If the closing date is open-ended we will state this in the advertisement for that particular role.
How do I receive notifications of job vacancies at Te Papa?
To receive job alerts of Te Papa vacancies, you need to be registered in our Jobs Centre. Once registered, you can set up the Job Alerts by logging into your Jobs Centre account and clicking on Jobs Alert. Set up your Job Alerts by selecting the specific criteria for the types of roles you are interested in.
Who can apply for jobs at Te Papa?
Anyone who is legally entitled to work in New Zealand can apply for our vacancies. Please be aware however that for certain vacancies, if you currently do not have the legal right to work in New Zealand, you may receive an email advising you that your application will not be considered following application.
