Kāhui Kaitiaki Hui
11-13 October 2013
, Hawkes Bay
$60 for marae accommodation and food
Kāhui Kaitiaki: he taonga ora, he tangata ora, is a network of Māori working in museums and galleries throughout Aotearoa. From the 11th-13th October this year we are hosting a hui, Tītiro Whakamua, at Kohupātiki Marae in Clive, Hawke’s Bay. This is an opportunity for Kāhui Kaitiaki to engage in a dynamic network of support while establishing a legacy for the future.
There will be a range of speakers with expertise grounded in mātauranga Māori. Topics range from collecting and caring for taonga, working with indigenous artists, mapping iwi heritage sites, museum education, bilingual approaches within the sector and the relevance of Wai 262 in museum practice.
The hui will begin with a pōwhiri at 1pm on Friday 11th of October and end with a poroporoaki at 11am Sunday 13th of October. The cost for marae accommodation and food for the duration of the hui is $60.
