Oral History Conference
20-21 September 2014
CQ Hotel and Function Centre
The National Oral History Association of New Zealand (NOHANZ), invites members, friends, and interested people, to our 2014 Oral History conference in Wellington. An exciting variety of presenters from New Zealand and abroad will address Oral History as a ‘gift of memory’ – exploring the themes of sharing, reciprocity, and understanding memory, over a range of topics including: health, indigenous culture, war memories, working life, technology and communities.
A special conference keynote presentation will be given by Dr Nēpia Mahuika, Ngāti Porou, of the University of Waikato, entitled: History [Always] Repeats: Oral History as Playback, Memory, and Tikanga.
A list of speakers and associated conference events (including oral history workshops), and conference registration forms, are available at the NOHANZ website: www.oralhistory.org.nz
