The Museum and Iwi Development Grants programme supports museums, art galleries, iwi, and other culture and heritage organisations in projects that are part of a long-term plan and that contribute to achieving operational excellence, improve access to and understanding of collections and taonga and develop partnerships.
Latest Grant news
The next Museum and Iwi Development Grant closing date is 30 June 2010. It is important that you discuss your proposed project with a National Services Te Paerangi team member before making your application, or call us on 0508 NSTP HELP (0508 678 743) for further information.
Who is eligible?
National Services Te Paerangi works with museums, art galleries, whare taonga, tribal museums, cultural centres, historic places, and science, interpretive, or exhibition centres. If you are involved in collection care, public programmes (including exhibitions), education, or community relationships, this grant may help you.
To be eligible for this grant, you must represent a legally constituted non-profit organisation such as an incorporated society or a charitable trust. If your organisation does not hold legal status, you may need to work with an ‘umbrella’ organisation to put in your application.
Can whānau or hapū apply?
We prefer that whānau and hapū apply for this grant through their legally constituted iwi organisation. It will strengthen your case if that organisation supports your project for the duration of the contract (usually up to 12 months). We encourage whānau and hapū to consider the aim of their project within the broader iwi strategy – how the project helps to develop the iwi as a whole.
For further information or to discuss your project, please contact Rhonda Paku, Manager Iwi Development: rhondap@tepapa.govt.nz or freephone 0508 678 743.
