In October 2010 we toured Nick Poole (UK), Chief Executive of the Collections Trust to Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin for a series of free public talks, 'United we stand: opportunities for museums worldwide'.
About Nick and the Collections Trust
The Collections Trust is the new UK organisation for collections. Their aim is to improve the quality of life by ensuring that cultural collections are available for use and enjoyment by everyone, now and for the future.
Nick’s mission at the Collections Trust is ’to help museums give people the best possible experience.’ He will share with us what he thinks are the current issues having an impact on museums and their audiences:
- contemporary collecting
- environmental efficiency
- using collections more effectively
- addressing issues of relevance and significance.
