Professional development programmes
Our Marae Protocol and Te Tiriti o Waitangi | Treaty of Waitangi programmes are popular with both corporate and government department clients.

Te Papa’s Marae Protocol programme introduces learners to the kawa (protocol) involved with a marae visit. Learners get the opportunity to participate in a pōwhiri (ceremony of welcome) on Te Papa’s own Te Marae, in a safe and supportive learning environment. The programme lasts 90 minutes. Minimum of 10, maximum of 20 participants per session.

Te Papa’s Te Tiriti o Waitangi | Treaty of Waitangi programme explores the challenging issues around the Treaty of Waitangi in a non-threatening environment. Using our exhibitions and taonga (treasures), participants are encouraged to explore and examine the concepts and controversies that surround the Treaty. The programme lasts 90 minutes. Minimum of 10, maximum of 20 participants per session.
