Art After Dark Toi o te Pō: Lisa Reihana’s New Installation

6.15pm–7.15pm: Lisa Reihana talks about her major new installation for Te Ara ā Hine (the approach on Level 2 to Te Papa’s Marae).
Starts at The Marae, Level 4, and moves to Te Ara ā Hine, Level 2. Free entry.

7.30pm– 9pm: Seven Sisters Concert. One Māori oral tradition says that Matariki (the Pleiades star cluster) is a mother surrounded by her six daughters. To honour this, seven women poets, writers, and musicians will perform in a concert celebrating Matariki (Māori New Year) and mana wahine (women’s prestige). Artists include Hinemoana Baker, Tusiata Avia, Keri Kaa, Jo Randerson and Moana Tipa.
