NZSO Day - 06/2004
This great day of family entertainment was also an enjoyable introduction to classical music. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, along with narrator Kevin Keys, performed well-loved classics such as Peter and the Wolf. Children had a chance to try out the bass drum, and a Family Concert rounded off the day with works from famous composers including Sleeping Beauty, the Wedding March, and waltzes and polkas from Johann Strauss.
Visitors heard well-known works played on a range of percussion instruments. At the end of the performance, kids were given the opportunity to try the bass drum.
