Don’t miss our intriguing line up of presentations to celebrate the Year of the Water Snake – and Te Papa’s recent exhibitions Kura Pounamu and Brian Brake at the National Museum of China, Beijing followed by a nationwide tour of China.
Athol McCredie, Te Papa Curator Photography, will discuss touring Brian Brake: Lens on China and New Zealand in Beijing.
There’ll be a presentation by Yiyan Wang, Professor of Chinese and Director of the Chinese Programme, School of Languages and Cultures, Victoria University of Wellington.
Christopher Elder, historian and diplomat, will talk about his latest book, New Zealand’s China Experience: Its Genesis, Triumphs, and Occasional Moments of Less than Complete Success, Victoria University Press, 2012.
Nathan Gray will explore his DVD First Pass under Heaven (one man’s 4,000 km trek along the Great Wall of China).
