This will cover:
- how to engage with an education audience when you don’t have education staff
- an over view of the new New Zealand Curriculum
- how to communicate with schools
- practice developing an education programme
- understand different learning styles
- how to manage groups of children and keep them focused.
Who will I meet?
Victoria Esson
- Victoria is a trained teacher and has worked in museum education for over 10 years. She has recent experience working with Wellington company Lift Education | E tū where she worked as Education Manager. In this role she worked with organisations to develop educational resources and to provide educational research and evaluation. She also recently held a position as Team Leader for education at Te Papa and was instrumental in the development and evaluation of numerous online learning resources. Victoria is currently Manager Museum Development for National Services Te Paerangi. She is taking a break from parental leave to deliver this workshop.

Who is it for?
This is an introductory level workshop which gives representatives from small museums, heritage organisations, the arts and cultural sector, iwi organisations, and others in the region to learn useful new skills and share ideas.
