One of our great racers! Phar Lap was born near Timaru, and went on to have an incredibly successful international racing career – winning 33 of his last 35 races. Imagine the glory if he was an F1 driver!

De Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth

The job of aerial topdressing New Zealand’s paddocks was almost as dangerous as driving a F1 car! Even though this little plane didn’t go at F1 speeds, it had a number of close calls and pilot deaths.
