See the cars

‘The perfect racing car crosses the finishing line first and subsequently falls into its component parts.’
Ferdinand Porsche

The first World Championship Formula One Grand Prix was held at Silverstone, England, in 1950. A world championship for constructors began in 1958.

Formula One cars are constantly pushing the boundaries of design and technological innovation. Below is the line-up of the Formula One cars you will see in this exhibition – ranging from a 1958 front-engined model to a modern 2006 model.
