Using real screws and nuts and a screwdriver, you can bring any idea into life. The only limitation is your own imagination.
Meccano Clubs from all over the motu have taken to Te Papa bringing incredible models to display for you to check and get inspired.
Ball bouncing models, big clocks that actually can tell the time, French knitting machines, pattern drawing machines. You can even have a go at trying to beat the computer on a Connect 4 game! The list is endless.
Meccano teaches logical thinking and patience, with the satisfaction of making something that moves and that was built with your own hands, using your imagination.
There are five active Meccano groups throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, where you can gain support, helpful hints, spare parts, and experience in model making.
