Dr Rachel Yates is a former Curator Pacific Cultures at Te Papa, where she worked closely with Pacific maker communities. She now works as a historian for the Ministry for Culture and Heritage. She has contributed to several publications with Te Papa Press, including Flora (2023) and Tatau: A history of Samoan tattooing (2018).
