Join us for a sector-wide kōrero exploring the evolving landscape of visitor charging models across museums and art galleries in Aotearoa. Sector leaders will share their experiences, insights, and practical approaches to visitor charging—from tiered pricing to international visitor charging and other models.
This hui is an opportunity to learn from peers, ask questions, and reflect on what might work best for your institution and community. Whether you're reviewing your current model or just curious about what others are doing, this session will offer valuable perspectives and spark ideas.
Speakers include:
Leanne Wickham, Director, Whirinaki Whare Taonga
Leanne is the Director of Whirinaki, Upper Hutt, New Zealand. She has 25 years' experience in working in the heritage, art and performing arts industry working in institutions such as Capital E Event and Exhibition Centre for Children, Petone Settlers Museum, and The Dowse Art Museum as well as managing large scale outdoor art events. She has been Director of Whirinaki, a suburban arts centre, for ten years, successfully tripling audiences. Her role as Director ranges from fundraising and partnership development to overseeing the exhibition and event programmes, as well as audience development.
