VUW Summer Research Scholarships
As one of the external partners of Victoria University of Wellington, Te Papa offers a few Summer Research Scholarships every year.
Victoria University of Wellington students will join our Natural History staff to gain experience and skills in collections-based research. Students are expected to work on their project for 10 weeks (400 hours) over the summer trimester, receiving a tax-free stipend of NZD $6,000.
Student applications typically open in September every year. Undergraduate, Honours, and Master’s students can join and you can find more information on eligibility and how to apply on VUW’s website.
Examples of past Summer Research projects:
Digitising Te Papa's forget-me-not collection and forget-me-not field work
Pollen-screening of bumble bees: land use, climate change, and insect decline
Reconstructing the historical distribution of kākāpō in New Zealand
