Inspired by Slow Burn: Women and Photography, the latest Eat Your Art Out high tea menu takes its cue from the world of photography.

From the delicate A Heart Exposed and the rich depth of The Chocolate Camera, to the savoury kick of The Apricot Proof, each item has been crafted by our award-winning chefs and is ready for its close-up.

Your high tea includes your choice of tea or coffee, with alcoholic beverages available to purchase. Dietary options are available on request.

Every purchase helps support Aotearoa New Zealand’s national museum.

A Heart Exposed
A delicate petite gâteau of tropical guava mousse layered with a vibrant raspberry centre, finished with refined textures and a balance of sweetness, bright berry acidity, and silky indulgence.

The Matcha Take
A refined Japanese-inspired madeleine infused with premium matcha, baked to a tender crumb with gentle earthy depth. Paired with luscious matcha ganache and sharp citrus bursts of yuzu gel. 

The Chocolate Camera
An elegant chocolate creation showcasing the rich, velvety depth of premium Whittaker’s chocolate balanced with the vibrant citrus brightness of calamansi.

Golden Hour
A radiant tropical dessert crafted with luscious mango mousse and vibrant passionfruit notes, layered to create a light yet indulgent finish. 

The Apricot Proof
A savoury petite muffin featuring sweet roasted capsicum folded through a soft, buttery crumb with delicate pockets of apricot for subtle fruity warmth.

Chicken Strut
Delicately layered smoked chicken paired with crisp cucumber ribbons, peppery rocket, and vibrant red pesto, nestled between soft artisan bread. 

Green Screen Sandwich (V)
A beautifully balanced vegetarian finger sandwich showcasing tender grilled courgette, slow-roasted vegetable chutney, and fresh baby spinach.

The Mango Still (VE/GF)
A smooth mango mousse encased in a delicate chocolate shell, showcasing the fruit’s natural sweetness. 

Peanut Butter Proof (VE/GF)
A rich peanut butter slice topped with a chocolate finish, balancing salty depth with a smooth, indulgent crumb.

Chocolate Darkroom (VE/GF)
Dark chocolate cups filled with smooth espresso-infused ganache, rich and intense from start to finish. 

Matcha Moment (VE/GF)
Matcha chocolate shells with a bright citrus centre, balancing earthy green tea notes against a fresh citrus snap. 

Apricot Aperture (VE/GF)
A vibrant apricot fruit jelly with an intense natural fruit flavour, finished with a delicate sugar coating for a clean, bright bite.

The Garden Negative (VE)
Tender grilled courgette layered with slow-roasted vegetable chutney and fresh baby spinach. 

Fritter in Focus (VE)
Golden corn fritters served with beetroot mayonnaise, mesclun leaves, and vine-ripened tomatoes.

 

Paired with your choice of coffee or tea.
