Come and join us to commemorate World Blood Donor Day to celebrate the generosity of blood donors and raise awareness about the critical need for safe blood supplies.

This date was chosen to honour the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist who discovered the ABO blood group system in 1901, which revolutionised transfusion medicine, saving countless lives.

We’re offering free blood typing for individuals aged 16 and over. In just four minutes, you’ll learn your blood type with a simple finger prick, no appointment needed. It’s quick, informative, and a meaningful way to connect with your health and community.

Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned donor, this event is a chance to learn, reflect, and contribute to a healthier Aotearoa. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

Blood typing can only be done on people aged 16 and over, but there will be a some activities for tamariki too.

We look forward to seeing you!
