What is a string quartet?

A string quartet is the most common chamber music group. It is made up of two violins, one viola and one cello. Chamber music is a genre of classical music characterised by its intimate setting and smaller groups of performers.

Unlike a large orchestra, chamber music and string quartets allow for a deep connection between the performers and audiences.
