Damien Wilkins, winner of the prestigious Acorn Prize for Fiction at the 2025 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards, discusses his profoundly moving novel Delirious.

The novel explores untimely loss, ageing, and surprise second chances with the emotional depth that has made Wilkins one of our most acclaimed novelists.

As well as being one of our most acclaimed novelists and Director of the IIML, Wilkins is a compelling speaker who shouldn't be missed.

Emily Perkins will join Damien to discuss the art of fiction, Wilkins' extensive career spanning 14 books, and how singing and songwriting fit into his creative process. You'll gain insights into both the craft and the life of a master storyteller.
