International museum entry tickets: Terms and conditions
If you’re an international visitor at Te Papa, these terms and conditions apply to you
These terms and conditions apply whether you purchased an entry ticket yourself, or whether someone else purchased your entry ticket for you.
Make sure you read and understand these terms and conditions.
After booking, you’ll receive a ticket
Once your online booking is confirmed, we’ll send an order confirmation and ticket to your email address.
Your ticket gives you access to Te Papa’s open exhibitions
Your ticket gives you access to open exhibitions at Te Papa. You’ll need to purchase separate tickets to get access to Te Papa’s paid exhibitions and experiences.
Please bring your ticket to Te Papa
When visiting Te Papa, you need to:
bring a printed or digital copy of your ticket to Te Papa
keep your ticket as proof of entry.
Your ticket is valid for 48 hours and is not transferable
Your ticket is:
valid for 48 hours after the entry date printed on it – you can revisit the museum using the same ticket within the 48-hour time frame
not transferable
not redeemable for cash
not to be resold at a higher price
replaceable if it is lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed and we can verify it as authentic using proof of purchase, and if you give us reasonable notice (we will not replace tickets if we suspect fraud, scalping, or a breach of these terms and conditions).
Refund requests must be made at least 24 hours before your entry date
If you have a refund request, you must:
email us at bookings@tepapa.govt.nz at least 24 hours before the entry date printed on the ticket
quote your booking confirmation reference number.
If we provide a refund, it will only be for the ticket price – we won’t refund any other costs you have paid relating to your booking.
If you request a refund after the entry date printed on the ticket, we will only consider your request in exceptional circumstances.
We may charge an administration fee for refunds.
We’ll use your information to provide you with your ticket
You are responsible for making sure the contact information you give us is correct.
We’ll use your contact information to:
provide you with your ticket
contact you about any issues with your ticket.

Follow Te Papa’s Code of Conduct and other rules
If you are visiting Te Papa, you must follow our Code of Conduct.
You also need to follow other rules that apply to specific exhibitions.
We may change these terms and conditions
At any time, we may change these terms and conditions by updating them and publishing them on the Te Papa website. Changes will only apply to tickets purchased after the updated terms and conditions have been published.
We may make changes without notice
At any time, we may change:
opening hours
exhibitions
access to specific areas of the museum
entry requirements.
